The Rotorua Daily Post is based in Rotorua with offices in Whakatane and Taupo and is strongly focused on local news, views, entertainment and information.

The Rotorua Daily Post newspaper is read on average by 20,000 people a day (AC Neilsen) and is one of APN's fastest growing regional newspapers. 

Our range of popular weekly titles includes the Rotorua Weekender, Whakatane News, Taupo Weekender & Turangi Chronicle and Rotorua Visitors Guide.

Our rapidly growing website is a community hub providing breaking news as well as lively discussion and debate on the big local issues.

The Rotorua Daily Post's reach includes the greater Rotorua area including Ngongotaha, Mamaku, Hamurana, Kaharoa, the Lakes area, Kaingaroa, Murupara, Rerewhakaaitu, Waikite, Ngakuru and Atiamuri as well as the important tourist and industrial centres of Taupo, Tokoroa, Kawerau, Whakatane, Opotiki, Te Puke and surrounding areas including rural and coastal settlements.

The Rotorua Daily Post was named Newspaper of the Year at the 2009 Qantas Awards and was a finalist in 2010 and 2011. We were APN Regional Newspaper of the Year in 2010 and a finalist at the PANPA Pacific Area Newspaper Awards in 2010 and 2012.

The Rotorua Daily Post was founded in 1885 as the Hot Lakes Chronicle.

Rotorua is the cultural and spiritual centre of the Te Arawa people, who settled in New Zealand in the 12th century. 

Modern Rotorua was established as a spa resort in 1880.
