A Rotorua teenager has appeared in court on a charge of murder
The 15-year-old appeared in the Youth Court at Rotorua on a charge of murder before Judge Maree Mackenzie yesterday afternoon.
Police then withdrew a holding charge of assault against the teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons.
Judge Mackenzie gave The Daily Post permission to release only the age of the alleged offender, where the teen is from, the charge being faced and the outcome of yesterday's Youth Court appearance.
All other details were suppressed by the judge.
The teenager was remanded without plea into the custody of Child Youth and Family at the new Rotorua youth justice facility, Te Maiaho.
The teenager is due back in Youth Court on September 14.
