Advanced art and design students in Rotorua are ending their final year with a splash ... of paint.

Level 7 students at Waiariki Institute of Technology are holding an exhibition to showcase their year's work.

Titled Et Al, the show will display the art of eight students - Karen Morrison, Annette Olsen, Deanne McClinchie, Sacha Fields, Greg Watts, Nerida Johnstone, Justine Munn and Paul Bottomley - and reveal the individual styles within the group.

McClinchie said the diverse range of art would include 2D and 3D pieces, as well as abstract, surreal and installation art which included the work space as part of the piece.

The artworks have been created with fabric, stone, glitter, recycled material, and traditional and non-traditional materials.

The students have also adopted a range of techniques to create their pieces.

Ms Morrison said she was excited to hear feedback on the work, which was produced throughout the year.

"Everyone will find something to be drawn to," she said.

"This has been in development for the whole year, with all work leading up to this event."

The exhibition is open for viewing in the I and J Block atriums at Waiariki Institute of Technology's Mokoia campus.
