BayTrust chopper kept busy

The Rotorua-based BayTrust Rescue Helicopter was called out twice today to a motocross event.

At 2pm it was called to the event near Pikowai, Matata. A 6-year-old Te Puke boy had received suspected abdominal injuries in a crash.

He was flown to Tauranga Hospital in a comfortable condition.

The helicopter crew was sent back to the track to pick up an 11-year-old Rotorua girl who had received a suspected broken arm in a crash.

She was flown to Rotorua Hospital in a comfortable condition.
