Competitive night at velodrome

A very competitive night of racing was held at the Rotorua Velodrome this week with 25 riders taking part.

New Zealand junior squad members Sam Bewley and Clinton Avery were using the track meeting as preparation before heading to Bendigo Australia early next week to compete in the Junior Commonwealth Games.

Bewley and Avery dominated the Miss and Out event, but Paul Bishop used his experience to win the final two sprints to overcome Avery in a very competitive Points Race.

Duathlete Sonia Foote made her debut on the track by winning the Point Race.
