A couple who heard a burglar alarm while driving past a rural Opotiki address tried to use their car to block two offenders from leaving the property.
The burglary suspects bumped the pair's car out of the way with their own vehicle but were followed by the couple, who took their licence plate number.
Police arrested one man a short time later before executing a search warrant at an address in Waiotahi and located property stolen from the Verrall Road address along with cannabis growing at the address.
A second man was also arrested.
The two men have been charged with burglary, and one of the men has been charged with cultivating cannabis.
Both will appear in the Opotiki District Court on Monday.
