Cyclist peddles less is more message
Andrea Di Blasio is travelling light and it's a message he wants to share.
The 45-year-old Italian is cycling on his recumbent bike from Auckland to Christchurch before hopping across the Ditch to pedal from Melbourne to Perth, and this week he stopped off in Rotorua.
Written on his bike is his message: "Let the needless go and take the world back".
"New Zealand is much more sensible regarding this kind of message," he said.
"We're wasting money on stupid things. Food prices are rising and at the same time millions of people suffer."
Mr Di Blasio said he was having a mid-life crisis when he decided to embark on this journey. He is writing a blog at www.tomno.altervista.org and hopes to meet other cyclists along the way.
