Dead body confirmed to be missing man
Police have confirmed a body found near Tikitapu (Blue Lake), was that of missing Rotorua man Ross McKendrick.
Mr McKendrick was last seen on New Year's Eve when he left his Western Heights home.
Detective Sergeant John Wilson of the Rotorua CIB said members of the public led police to find the body yesterday afternoon.
Mr McKendrick, 65, was last seen on December 31 leaving his Western Heights home on a blue bicycle. He suffered some serious health issues which required constant medication.
Mr Wilson said police were still investigating the man's death but it was not being treated as suspicious.
