Girls' High tourists record a mixed bag



Touring Rotorua Girls' High School have recorded a mixed bag of results during their sporting and cultural exchange to sister city Klamath Falls in the United States.

The 1st XI soccer team have recorded two wins and two losses, while the basketball team suffered a 57-21 loss to host team Mazama.

Girls' High players, who were also invited to participate in a lighting ceremony of the Klamath Falls Christmas tree, were due to play games at Klamath Union and Henley yesterday.

Head of Sport Tanya Lee Parker said temperatures were below freezing and the soccer games were held on a field covered in snow and ice.

However, she said, the team, who were billeted out to local families, were in good spirits and enjoying the cultural side of the tour.

The travelling party of 25 students and adults are due in San Francisco for more games later this week.
