Injured horse rider airlifted to hospital
A 50-year-old woman was airlifted to Rotorua Hospital this afternoon after she broke her leg while riding her horse through forestry land in Te Teko.
St John paramedics from Whakatane and Kawerau stabilised the injured woman until the Rotorua-based BayTrust Rescue Helicopter arrived and took her to Rotorua Hospital for further treatment.
