King of Tonga to visit Rotorua
The new King of Tonga and his wife will visit Rotorua on Thursday.
Rotorua Deputy Mayor Trevor Maxwell told the Rotorua District Council that King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipau'u will be in Rotorua for one day and will be welcomed with a powhiri at Te Papaiouru Marae in Ohinemutu from 10am.
They will also visit Te Puia and meet representatives of Ngati Whakaue's Pukeroa Oruawhata Trust.
