L J Hooker Rotorua staff will be using their sales skills for a worthy cause tonight.

The real estate company will be hosting an auction to raise funds to buy wet weather gear for the Homedale Kindergarten.

Items on offer include footballs signed by rugby league legend Stacey Jones and other Warriors players, artwork, passes to Skyline Skyrides, the Agrodome, Mitai, Tamaki Maori Village and various other Rotorua attractions.

Event organiser Tania Park said $2000 was needed to provide gumboots and raincoats for the Homedale students. "It's great to have locals come together and give their support and help to a local kindergarten." She said inquiries would be made to try  to help other kindergartens in Rotorua if money raised exceeded the $2000 they needed.

The auction will be at 6pm at the L J Hooker sales office, on the corner of Eruera St and Amohia St.

Bidders must first register on the night before the auction begins. Complimentary wine and nibbles are on offer.
