Sam Rossiter was the big winner during this week's Lake City Athletics Club's prizegiving.
Not only did Rossiter win the Cold Spring Jamaica Cup for his all-round performance in the junior category, but he was also awarded the Champion of Champions Trophy after accumulating the most championship points (92).
Lynne Peirse was called to receive the women's Sprint Points Trophy for her efforts in recording the most points (57) in the overall women's grades while Steve O'Callaghan won the Keith Hay Homes Trophy for his outstanding performance winning club and away middle-distance races.
Len Watson and Dennis Kenny shared honours when they received the Dorothy Malcolm Memorial Trophy for their work in the running of the club nights.
Committee member Pam Kenny told the 40 athletes and guests at the prizegiving, held at the Neil Hunt Park clubrooms, the main highlight of the season was the number of people who stepped out in the walking events. She hoped this would continue next season.
There was also a call to encourage more senior women to compete on a regular basis.
The club's athletes will now take a break until September.
