Inspirational: Waiariki Institute of Technology first year creative arts students show off some of the works they will exhibit in tomorrow's show.
Range of styles, designs to be exhibited at Waiariki
Leading fashion designers, artists and interior designers all have to find inspiration to begin their craft - a group of Rotorua students are doing the same.
Waiariki Institute of Technology first year creative arts students are tomorrow's creative innovators and they are tomorrow showcasing the first steps of their own artistic journeys in an exhibition titled Inspirational Beginnings.
The show celebrates first-year Creative Art, Fashion Technology and Interior Design students' work completed during Waiariki's Introduction to Drawing course.
Fashion Technology student Cyrene Burnett expects the show will be visually enticing.
"People will get to see a range of different styles and designs." she said.
The exhibition will display the students' one and two point perspective drawings in distorted perspectives, charcoal still lives, fashion illustration and digital drawing. Course lecturer Cherie Sayer said the exhibition was a chance for the students to be proud of themselves and experience what it was like to be a part of a show.
"The collection is of an exceptional standard." she said.
Interior Design student Raelene Matthews initially found the work on the course daunting but said once you finish the work "it's wow I actually could do that".
The exhibition opens at 6.30pm tomorrow in the I block Atrium at Waiariki's Rotorua campus.
