Suspicious fire in disused cow shed
A fire which gutted a disused cow shed in Galatea is being treated as suspicious.
Station officer Mania Durham of the Kawerau Fire Service said they were called about 9.30pm on Satur day to the fire on Waitaruna Rd.
Firefighters from Kawerau, Murupara and Kaingaroa were at the property for about 90 minutes extinguishing the fire, dampening down hot spots and investigating the cause.
The cow shed as well as furniture being stored inside was destroyed. Mr Durham said they were still investigating but were treating the fire as suspicious.
