Teenager airlifted after Taupo crash
A female teenager from Hamilton was airlifted to Waikato Hospital after a car crash near Taupo about noon today.
The Greenlea Rescue Helicopter was called to the intersection of State Highway 1 and Oruanui Rd, about 15km north of Taupo, as she had injured her head when the vehicle she was a passenger in collided with another vehicle.
Local fire and ambulance services looked after the teenager until she could be taken to hospital for further treatment and observation.
