The Rotorua Golf Club Ladies team have added another pennant to their already impressive tally after winning their fourth consecutive Bay of Plenty Ladies Championship Matchplay title.

They played with strong determination and great team spirit at the weekend to come out on top with a tremendous victory, in very wet conditions, over an experienced Tauranga Golf Club team.

The Rotorua team, successfully led from the top, featured Heather Lavery, Saini Skudder, Krystle Holder, Donna White, Hinerangi Richardson, Debbie Maindonald and team manager Rema Byford.

The team said their caddies and supporters also played a very important role.

Other players who early in the season contributed to the team's winning streak were Wai Morrison, Judy Columb and Wendy Lewis.

The format of the competition this year was matchplay with players 1 to 3 playing off the stick and players 4 to 6 playing handicap matchplay. This format is to continue for the 2011 season.

  • Team results: Heather Lavery won 5/4, Saini Skudder won 3/2, Krystle Holder won 8/6, Donna White lost 3/2, Hinerangi Richardson won 6/5, Debbie Maindonald won 4/3.
