Woman hurt at Hot Water Beach, Tarawera
A woman has been hurt in an incident at Lake Tarawera. The Rotorua based BayTrust Rescue Helicopter was called to the Hot Water Beach area on Lake Tarawera to provide assistance to an injured woman at 7.30pm on Tuesday January 1. The 21 year old from Gisborne received serious leg injuries whilst engaged in recreational activities on the lake. The helicopter was able to land close by so St John Paramedics could provide assistance and medication. Once stabilised she was airlifted to Rotorua hospital.
