Worker flown to hospital after hit by falling branch

A 31-year-old forestry worker had to be airlifted to hospital this morning.

The Taupo-based Greenlea Rescue Helicopter pilot Nat Every said the worker was hit by a branch about 8.30am while felling trees at Tarawera on the Napier, Taupo Highway.

The worker was taken to Hastings Hospital with rib and shoulder injuries.
