Young child airlifted to hospital
An infant suffering seizures had to be airlifted to hospital tonight.
The Rotorua-based Bay Trust Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Murupara about 7pm to attend a 16 month old infant suffering from seizures.
Local St John paramedics stabilised the boy in Galatea and then drove him to Murapara to meet the helicopter.
He was flown back to Rotorua Hospital in deteriorating weather for further treatment and observation.
